Every gate we fix in Orlando, from the iron driveway gates in Winter Park to the aluminum community gates in Lake Nona, gets touched by a small crew that has worked together long enough to finish each other’s sentences. We don’t rotate strangers through your property. The technician who answers your call is the one who shows up, and the person who quotes your repair is the one standing next to the gate when the work gets approved. That consistency is why our 365-day guarantee actually means something. We know exactly who did the work, what they found, and what it should cost to make it right.
Styles & brands we work with

Our People
Dean Prescott, Owner
Dean started working on gate operators in 2008 and opened the Orlando location shortly after. He still handles estimates and hard-to-diagnose electrical faults himself, mostly because he’d rather be under a control board than behind a desk. If you call about a gate that opens halfway and stops, Dean probably has a pretty good idea what’s wrong before the truck leaves the shop. Orlando humidity destroys limit switches faster than anywhere he’s worked, and he’ll tell you that while he’s swapping one out. He signs every Kingswell Guarantee that leaves this location and he’s the one who shows up if something we fixed isn’t holding.
Marcus T., Lead Technician
Marcus has been with Portcullis for eleven years and handles the majority of our commercial gate repairs across Orlando, including the apartment and HOA gates around Dr. Phillips and MetroWest. He’s the guy you want when a barrier arm won’t stay down or a slide gate is binding on its track. Most of his calls involve Vehicle Detection loops, so he spends a fair amount of time in a reflective vest cutting saw slots in asphalt and muttering about Florida’s afternoon rainstorms messing with his wire pulls. Off the clock he’s rebuilding a 1967 Camaro, which explains why he’s particular about torque settings on gate hinge bolts.
Elena R., Installation Lead
Elena runs our new gate installations and full system replacements, which means she’s the person measuring your driveway, checking the grade, and telling you honestly whether your existing posts can hold a heavier gate or need to be redone. She came to Portcullis from a fencing contractor in Kissimmee, so she understands how the gate, the operators, and the fence all need to work as one system instead of three separate projects. Elena handles lift-spec work as well and has a reputation for keeping install sites tidy enough that you’d never know we trenched for a power run. She has a small citrus grove in her backyard and occasionally brings in bags of oranges for the shop.
Sam B., Apprentice Technician
Sam joined our Orlando crew two years ago as a helper and is now running solo on simple service calls like photo-eye alignments, remote programming, and battery replacements. He rides with either Marcus or Elena on anything involving high-tension springs or heavier equipment. Sam is the one who double-checks the guarantee paperwork before you sign it, and he calls customers when he’s twenty minutes out, which he’s gotten considerably better at. He’s originally from Tallahassee and claims the Orlando traffic has made him a far more patient troubleshooter than he used to be.
One Standard, Every Job
The Kingswell Way isn’t a mission statement we hang in the break room. It’s five commitments written in plain English on every repair invoice: say the price before the work starts, show up in the window we gave, leave the job site cleaner than we found it, put the guarantee in writing, and come back if the repair fails inside 365 days. Every technician at this Orlando location works under those same five rules. We’re an independently owned and operated Kingswell company, which means the standards aren’t enforced by some distant franchise office. Dean enforces them because his name is on the guarantee. If Marcus fixes a gate operator in Maitland and it fails three months later, the return visit costs you nothing. If Elena installs a gate and the hinges settle wrong, you call and she’s back. Every Portcullis location runs the same way because the written promise travels with the invoice, not with a particular personality. That’s the whole idea behind the 365-Day Done Right Promise, and it’s why we don’t have to convince you with adjectives. The paper does the talking.
